Accidents at the workplace and the resulting production stoppages cost German companies billions of marks in damages annually. The TÜV Rheinland Group therefore recommends that its customers set up an industrial safety management system.

For example, TÜV specialists perform inspections of technical service providers - so called "contractors" - according to the SCC (safety-certificate-contractors) checklist. The SCC system is used to reduce accidents at work and to keep downtimes as minimal as possible.
