| Fortunately, our lives do not revolve
solely around work. We also indulge in leisure activities to balance
things out and for relaxation purposes. Sport and exercise are keys
in this respect as they foster good health, fun and "joie de
vivre". |
| |
| In many locations where such leisure
activities are pursued, man and technic interact - on playgrounds,
at the swimming pool, in fitness studios, on the go-cart track etc.
|
| |
At present, there is no European
Directive for Sporting Equipment. As such, Sporting goods themselves
cannot carry a CE-mark. CE-marks found on such equipment apply to
their electrical/electronic components e.g. battery powered displays
etc.
Some equipment is wrongly recognized as sporting equipment. Depending
on where the product will actually be used it may be considered
Personnel Protective Equipment e.g. a protector for inline skating.
Even though no CE-mark can currently be issued for sporting goods,
safety testing for these products is still highly recommended. For
most sporting goods testing is conducted against standards recognized
across Europe. |
| |
TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH's task
in this context is to ensure these man-technic encounters meet optimum
safety and quality standards and guarantee risk-free leisure-time
enjoyment!
And so that it's plain for everyone to see - by means of our GS
or Q Marks which identify technical products or systems as being
"TÜV-approved".
Are you a user or manufacturer of such equipment? If so, contact
us, and we will help you achieve enhanced safety in leisure and
sport. |
