Our laboratories located in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen are well equipped with comprehensive machinery and expertise to assist clients comply with various regulations for apparel in importing countries and to meet the quality expectations of consumers. These regulations include fibre labelling, care labelling, flammability and restrictions on harmful chemicals.
Mandatory Tests
Fibre labelling regulation requires the accurate declaration of fibre composition and hence the need for careful analysis of the fibre type and the quantity of components. Care labelling regulation requires the promulgation on labels of appropriate advice to consumers on washing care. A series of tests of dimensional stability in washing and dry cleaning, colour fastness to washing, dry cleaning, chlorine bleach, non-chlorine bleach, and actual laundering, and the garment appearance after washing should be conducted for verification of the appropriateness of the advice given. Flammability tests of children's sleepwear (USA and Canada), children's nightclothes (Australia), nightwear (to comply with nightwear (safety) regulations of the UK) and wearing apparel to comply with the relevant regulations of the USA, Canada and Sweden are a must. Safety testing of button tension and torque are also necessary to safeguard children from harm that arises from swallowing loosened or broken buttons.
Performance Testing
Testing for all textile products from yarn to fabric and fabric to garments are crucial to appraise the quality of the end product and its potential functionality. These tests include colour fastness to rubbing/crocking, light, perspiration, water, chlorinated water and seawater; strength tests, namely of tensile strength, tearing strength, seam strength, slippage characteristics, bursting strength etc.; pilling resistance; oil repellence; soil release; air permeability; water vapour permeability; abrasion resistance; water repellence; zipper strength, durability and operability; velcro shearing and peeling; snap fastener security; and the corrosion of metallic finishes, etc.
