party and is supported by regular surveillance audits.

Manufacturers are successful at penetrating markets,
gaining buyer acceptance and increasing market share

Mark
The Bauart Mark, also known as the Type Approved Mark
or TUV Mark, is a safety approval mark for components
or subassemblies. This mark shows the manufacturer and
the consumer that the component has been inspected by
an impartial organization such as TUV Rheinland and
has been found compliant with the required safety standards.
The mark is supported by regular production surveillance
audits. 
 cTUV
(Canada)
TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. is accredited by
the Standards Council of Canada to test and certify
products to Canadian National Standards. Products tested
and certified for the Canadian market by TUV Rheinland
of North America are identified by the cTUV mark which
denotes compliance to Canadian National Standards.

 cTUVus (Canada & U.S.)
TUV Rheinland of North America is a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States and is
accredited by the Standards Council of Canada to test
and certify products to Canadian National Standards.
Clients can demonstrate compliance for both U.S. and
Canadian markets through a single mark (cTUVus) on their
product(s).

 ECO-Circle Mark
The ECO-Circle Mark is for products that comply
with the requirements of the Ergonomics Approved Mark,
as well as additional environmental requirements.

 E-Mark
Automotive
products, components and subsystems that are exported
to Europe must meet European EC/ECE requirements. Compliance
is indicated by the e1 and/or E1 marks on the product.

 EMC/EMV Mark
The EMC/EMV mark demonstrates compliance with electromagnetic
compatibility (emissions and immunity) law as well as
the EMC requirements specified in the European EMC Directive
89/336/EEC. TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. can
provide EMC testing services through its own EMC facility,
appointed laboratories or its own mobile EMC lab used
for regional on-site testing of large equipment.

 Ergonomics Mark
The Ergonomics Approved Mark demonstrates that a
Visual Display Terminal has advanced ergonomic quality
because it complies with numerous ergonomic standards
including: MPR II, ISO 9241-3 and ISO 9241-8.

 GM
Mark
The GM Mark shows that medical products have been
tested and are in compliance with safety standards and
the essential requirements of the Medical Device Directive.

 SEMI-S2
The internationally recognized, third-party SEMI-S2
Mark is for approved semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
SEMI recognizes this mark as an official document that
denotes third-party compliance with the SEMI S2 standard
and safety guidelines. 
 T-Mark
The T-Mark shows conformity to a specific standard,
based on the manufacturer's specification. It enables
the manufacturer to show that the product has been investigated
to a particular safety requirement and the manufacturing
process is regularly inspected. 
 TUV
Rheinland GS Mark
The German safety approval mark shows conformity with
the German Equipment Safety Law. It is a recognized
mark for electrical products, such as office equipment,
household appliances and industrial equipment, and is
widely accepted throughout Europe. The TUV Rheinland
GS Mark signals to the buyer, customer and consumer
that the product, as well as the user manual and production
process, has been tested by an authorized institution
such as TUV Rheinland and is supported by regular surveillance
audits.
 TUVus
(United States)
TUV Rheinland of North America is a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States. Clients
can demonstrate compliance for the U.S. market through
the use of this mark mark (TUVus) on their product(s)
which denotes compliance to U.S. Standards.

B Mark (Poland)
TUV Rheinland maintains a cooperation with the PCBC
(Polskie Centrum Badan I Certyfikacji), the National
Certification Body for the CB Scheme in Poland. The
PCBC issues the Polish Safety Mark B based on documentation
provided by TUV Rheinland.
 CCC
Mark (China) The CCC Mark is referred to as
China Compulsory Certification and replaced the CCIB
and CCEE Mark as of May 1, 2003. The CCC Mark serves
as evidence that covered products can be marketed, imported
or used in China. When using the mark, the certificate
holder must abide by the Regulations for the Compulsory
Product Certification Mark.
 CE Marking
Many products seeking entry into the European Union
must comply with the European Directives and bear the
CE Marking. The CE Marking is the manufacturer's self-declaration,
showing compliance with all applicable directives. As
a subsidiary of an EU Notified/Competent Body, TUV Rheinland
of North America can assist manufacturers in meeting
Directive requirements. 

cTUV (Canada)
TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. is accredited
by the Standards Council of Canada to test and certify
products to Canadian National Standards. Products tested
and certified for the Canadian market by TUV Rheinland
of North America will be identified by the cTUV mark
which denotes compliance to Canadian National Standards.

 cTUVus (Canada & U.S)
TUV Rheinland of North America is a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States and is
accredited by the Standards Council of Canada to test
and certify products to Canadian National Standards.
Clients can demonstrate compliance for both U.S. and
Canadian markets through a single mark (cTUVus) on their
product(s) which denotes compliance to U.S. and Canadian
National Standards. 
 ek
Mark (Korea)
The ek Mark is placed on nearly all electrical products
that are placed on the Korean market.

GOST-R (Russia)
TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc.

Many products bound for Russia need GOST-R certification.
TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. has entered into
a strategic cooperation with VNIIS to issue GOST-R certificates
directly through VNIIS for an extensive range of products.
 MIC
Mark (Korea)
The MIC Mark is required for information technology
equipment. Depending upon the product, the MIC Mark
applies for Safety, EMC or Telecom.
 NOM
(Mexico)
Many electrical and electronic products being sold
in Mexico must comply with NOM (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas)
standards. TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. has
a bilateral agreement with a Mexican laboratory accredited
by Sistema Nacional de Acreditamiento de Laboratorios
de Pruebas (SINALP) to evaluate products against Mexican
standards. Once the product is found in compliance,
NOM certification is granted.
 Nordic Marks
Through an agreement with FIMKO, Nordic Certification
Services are available for Finland, Sweden (SEMKO),
Norway (NEMKO) and Denmark (DEMKO). 
 


 PSB
Mark (Singapore)
The PSB Mark is issued by the Singapore Productivity
and Standards Board. The Safety Authority (PSB) is the
statutory body appointed by the Ministry of Trade and
Industry to administer the regulations. The Safety Authority
has amended the regulations, requiring all registered
controlled goods to be individually marked with the
SAFETY Mark. Manufacturers, importers, traders, retailers
and advertisers who are involved in supplying controlled
goods must ensure that their obligations under the regulations
are fulfilled. The grant of approval and registration
is valid for a period of three years, thereafter renewal
is required if registration of that model is to continue.
 PSE
Mark (Japan)
The PSE Mark is issued to most electrical appliances
for the home and business in Japan. The PSE Mark is
printed onto the rating label.
 RCM
Mark (Australian)
The RCM Mark indicates that the product meets all applicable
regulatory requirements for safety and EMC and/or the
specific requirements for radio apparatus. This mark
is used in lieu of marking the product with the separate
marks that indicate compliance for safety, EMC and radio
apparatus regulatory requirements.
 S-Mark (Argentina)
The S-Mark product certification is mandatory according
to Resolution 92/98 of the Argentinean government for
all electrical and electronic products with a nominal
supply voltage in excess of 50V. The test standards
used in Argentina are IEC-based.
 S-Mark (Japan)
The S-Mark shows the buyer, customer and consumer
that the product has been successfully tested by an
impartial and independent laboratory such as TUV Rheinland
and has been proven safe.
 TUVus
(United States)
TUV Rheinland of North America is a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States. Clients
can demonstrate compliance for the U.S. market through
the use of this mark mark (TUVus) on their product(s)
which denotes compliance to U.S. Standards.

ISO 9000/QS-9000
TUV Rheinland of North America can provide quality
management system registration services through the
following accreditations: ANSI-RAB in the U.S., RvA
of the Netherlands and through TUV CERT in Germany.
We can also provide QS-9000 registrations for the automotive
industry. 
 ISO
14001
TUV Rheinland of North America can provide environmental
management system registration according to the ISO
14001 standard. Our ISO 14001 registration services
are accredited by the RAB.
